The three companies propose to develop key components for 'Golden Dome', a project aimed at detecting and neutralizing enemy missiles. SpaceX has suggested a 'subscription-based service' model to facilitate rapid deployment of the technology. While there have been positive signals from the Pentagon, the selection is just beginning, and traditional defense companies such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin are also involved. The project is expected to cost hundreds of billions of dollars, with delivery deadlines stretching beyond 2030.
