The discovery of TOI-6894b, orbiting a red dwarf star with a mass just 20% that of the Sun, challenges traditional views on the formation of giant planets. It was realized by the TESS mission and confirmed by large telescopes. Existing theories suggest that low-mass stars cannot support the formation of large planets, but TOI-6894b contradicts this idea. Astronomers are now investigating its origin, and future observations with the James Webb Space Telescope could provide new insights.
