Google has taken its AI coding assistant Jules, running on Gemini 2.5 Pro, out of beta.

Jules is an asynchronous, agent-based coding tool that integrates with GitHub, clones codebases to Google Cloud virtual machines, and uses AI to fix or update code while developers focus on other tasks. Also new is that unlike other synchronous AI coding tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and Lovable, Jules can run tasks in the background, allowing developers to "let go" of their work and come back later for the completed results.
