In a note to clients, analysts at LightShed say Apple needs a CEO focused on innovation as the company has lagged in developing artificial intelligence. Apple shares are down 16% this year, in contrast to the increases seen by Meta and Microsoft. Although Tim Cook has the backing of the board of directors, criticism over a lack of innovation could hurt the company's future. At the same time, Cook has led Apple to a 1,400% rise in shares during his tenure.
