The European Union is negotiating the new multiannual budget for the period 2028–2034, and the Republic of Moldova could benefit from several billion euros from pre-accession funds intended for candidate countries, according to MEP Siegfried Mureșan. The official stated that the European Parliament has requested a 10% increase in the European fund of over 40 billion euros allocated to candidate countries and supports the establishment of clear allocations for each state, depending on the progress of reforms and accession negotiations.
