The six parliamentarians of the UNIT Party (entering Parliament on the POT lists) announced on Sunday evening that they will not vote for the motion of censure against the Bolojan Government, even though they signed it.
Andrei Csillag criticized the motion, stating that it does not offer solutions for Romania's economic problems and that its purpose is merely to replace one person, not to change the political direction.
He emphasized that Romania cannot afford a prolonged political blockage, but the vote must reflect the public interest. Csillag mentioned that they had discussions with Prime Minister Bolojan, who confirmed that there is no intention to change current policies.
"We do not endorse the PSD–AUR games. We do not vote for a motion without solutions! (...) Romania needs stability and clarity. This motion offers neither. It is merely a political maneuver meant to provide a tempting scapegoat for past failures and to allow the continuation of the same practices," wrote Andrei Csillag on his Facebook page.
Additionally, PACE senator Liviu Fodoca announced that he will not vote for the motion, emphasizing that it does not propose a real alternative to governance. The UNIT Party desires stability and clarity, believing that the motion does not bring these elements but merely perpetuates old political practices.
The general mayor of the Capital and first vice-president of PNL, Ciprian Ciucu, stated on Sunday, at Antena 3 CNN, that the fate of the Government regarding the motion of censure submitted by PSD and AUR "is currently at stake" and believes "that there are missing between five and ten votes for it not to pass".
The motion of censure titled "STOP the 'Bolojan Plan' for the destruction of the economy, the impoverishment of the population, and the fraudulent sale of state assets" was signed by 254 parliamentarians, in the context where the threshold is 233.
