The draft state budget law for 2026 was approved on Thursday in the joint budget-finance committees of Parliament, with 38 votes "for" and 13 "against". An amendment submitted by the PSD was adopted, allowing the funding of certain highway projects from non-reimbursable funds, such as the Timișoara - Moravița Highway and the Suceava - Siret Express Road. PSD Deputy Adrian Câciu emphasized that this amendment will not have a budgetary impact, as it depends on the fiscal space created from external sources. The budget project anticipates an economic growth of 1%, a budget deficit of 135.684 billion lei, and an average annual inflation of 6.5%. Budget revenues are estimated at nearly 391.729 billion lei, while expenditures are at 714.329 billion lei. The Chairman of the Budget Committee, Bogdan-Iulian Huțucă, mentioned that the approved changes will be reflected in the budget annexes.
