The PSD / AUR motion against the Bolojan Government, initially signed by 254 parliamentarians, has passed the vote of the parliamentarians.

The leader of AUR, George Simion, announces on Facebook that the censure motion has passed. According to HotNews and Digi24, the PSD-AUR motion was voted by 281 senators and deputies.

Officially, there were 288 votes cast. Of these, the number of annulled votes: 3, the total number of valid votes cast: 285. For the adoption of the censure motion, there were 281 votes in favor and 4 votes against.

To dismiss the Government, the vote of 233 out of a total of 464 parliamentarians was needed.

The Bolojan Government will remain interim until a new prime minister is appointed, and negotiations for a new majority will begin.

After the vote on the motion, meetings will take place in each of the parties. The one at PNL is scheduled for Tuesday at 5:00 PM.

After the adoption of the censure motion, the Government is considered dismissed even on the date of the withdrawal of confidence by Parliament, based on art. 110 para. 2 correlated with art. 113 of the Constitution, without the need for a formal act of "resignation" by the prime minister. From this moment, the Bolojan executive operates as a dismissed Government, with limited powers, "performing only the acts necessary for the administration of public affairs, until the oath is taken by the members of the new Government," as results from the interpretation of art. 110 and from the practice explained in constitutional guidelines.

The text of the motion "Stop Bolojan's plan," submitted by PSD and AUR and initially signed by 254 parliamentarians, accuses "the destruction of the economy, the impoverishment of the population, and the fraudulent sale of state assets," especially through the plan to list state companies.

President Nicușor Dan indicated that any new executive – whether majority or minority – will need to be supported by a pro-Western majority, with a clear mandate on PNRR and financial stability, under the conditions in which the budget deficit and market pressures have already been invoked as the central reason for Bolojan's reforms.

The Bolojan Government is the seventh government dismissed by censure motion in post-1989 Romania.
