The president of USR, Dominic Fritz, commented on the repeated delays by the Constitutional Court (CCR) regarding the law on judges' pensions, stating that these "little games" will not be successful. Fritz emphasizes that the reform of special pensions is desired by citizens and that the current blockage is dangerous, suggesting that it could protect interests in the judiciary. He called for a reform of the CCR to disconnect judges from group interests.
UDMR deputy Csoma Botond stated that the situation at the CCR is unprecedented, emphasizing that judges who do not show up are boycotting the functioning of the Court. Additionally, USR deputy Alexandru Dimitriu announced the initiation of procedures for the exclusion of judges proposed by PSD who have blocked the activity of the CCR. Botond expressed skepticism regarding their exclusion, citing the independence of constitutional judges. He emphasized that the CCR must fulfill its constitutional role and called for a solution to overcome the current blockage.
