The meeting scheduled for Thursday evening between Nicușor Dan and party leaders was canceled and the negotiations were rescheduled for Friday, June 20. Ilie Bolojan has warned that he will not accept the post of prime minister if the president does not agree to raise VAT to 21%, contrary to his election promise. While PSD and UDMR leaders support the VAT hike, USR disagrees with a technocrat prime minister. Negotiations are urgent, given the deadline for adopting the fiscal measures needed to reduce the budget deficit.
