Sovereign parliamentarians are meeting today to verify the tally of signatures required to initiate the procedure for the suspension of President Nicușor Dan.

The AUR deputy, Ștefăniță Avrămescu, stated that the group will evaluate how many signatures they have to support this initiative, which requires 155 signatures. The suspension could receive support from other parties, including PSD, PNL, and USR. The reason cited for this action is represented by Nicușor Dan's attacks on the independence of the judiciary, and a group of senators and deputies from the PACE Group - Together Romania intends to submit the suspension request in Parliament.
