Giorgia Meloni and Marcel Ciolacu have signed a declaration increasing the potential for cooperation between the two countries

The declaration paves the way for new common goals and priorities. Italy is Romania's second-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding €20 billion in 2023. Also on the agenda were topics related to European and international agendas, such as Italy's support for Romania's accession to Schengen.
