Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will present measures to reform local public administration, including abolishing the post of deputy mayor in small municipalities.

In a press conference scheduled for today, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will announce the proposed reforms for local public administration, together with Development Minister Cseke Attila. Among the measures under discussion are the abolition of the post of deputy mayor in localities with less than 1,500 inhabitants and the overhaul of the local police, including a reduction in the number of staff. It is also proposed to merge some directorates and services under the authority of town halls, as well as to reorganize staffing schemes across the public administration.
