In a press release, Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, criticized the Bolojan government for causing a serious economic crisis, highlighting the 15.4% increase in energy prices in the second semester of 2025 compared to the second semester of 2024.
Peiu emphasized that tax increases and the state's budgetary waste have amplified the effects of rising energy prices, contributing to an inflation rate of nearly 10%, the highest in the EU. He accused the government of transferring the costs of the crisis onto the population, refusing to reduce the expenses of the state apparatus, which accounts for a quarter of total consumption.
Peiu concluded that the PSD-PNL-USR-UDMR government has stifled consumer spending without acknowledging the negative impact of its policies on the economy.
