The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, reacted to the controversial decision of the Constitutional Court to declare unconstitutional the legal provisions on the publication of the declarations of assets of dignitaries. He underlines the importance of transparency in public administration and Parliament's responsibility to correct any legislative shortcomings. The CCR argued that obliging dignitaries to include their spouses' incomes in their declarations is unconstitutional, citing the protection of privacy. The decision will only affect future declarations, not previous ones.
