Easier or less easy, a year has passed with Nicușor. The president is still expected to come up with solutions to many of the problems from a year ago.

On May 26, 2025, Nicușor Dan took office as the president of Romania, but after a year, Romanians noticed a significant difference between the promising candidate and the gaffe-prone president. His activity was marked by official visits, but also by a decline in public trust. Despite the promises made during the electoral campaign, many of them remained unfulfilled.

On December 1, in the midst of austerity, Nicușor Dan organized an extravagant reception at Cotroceni, while many Romanians were facing a lack of drinking water. His gaffes sparked criticism, and his supporters began to distance themselves. Polls show a dissatisfaction of 69.5% regarding his activity, and 46.9% of Romanians would like his removal through a referendum. Nicușor Dan is in an unstable balance, with a pro-Western discourse, but with a clear rift from his initial supporters.

The president is still expected to come up with solutions to many of the problems from a year ago, and some of the choices made by the head of state have disappointed many of his supporters.
