Nicușor Dan has signed a decree through which Marius Lazurca receives new responsibilities, being appointed presidential advisor for national security, alongside his existing responsibilities in the field of foreign policy. The decree, which will come into force on November 1, 2025, amends the sole article of Decree no. 958/2025, clearly stipulating Lazurca's new role.
He will continue to lead the Department of Foreign Policy, Strategic Partnerships, and Romanians Everywhere within the Presidential Administration, thus expanding his role within the government. Lazurca was previously considered for the position of head of the SIE.
