The leader of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, believes that the best solution is to restore the PSD-PNL-USR-UDMR coalition, after the Bolojan Government was ousted on Tuesday following the passing of the censure motion submitted by PSD-AUR.
"All solutions should be left on the table, no solution is undemocratic, the vote must be respected. Our option would be to restore the coalition that functioned until a month ago, if a prime minister can be found who can be accepted by all parties and who would not be a rival to any, especially referring to the major parties. The decisions of PNL are known, but discussions must continue," said Kelemen Hunor.
He stated that he does not see a minority formula as viable, because even the majority ones are difficult to manage.
"We are waiting to be invited to discussions with President Dan, we have not been contacted yet," added the UDMR leader.
When asked what proposal he would have for a prime minister, he said he does not have one.
"I only said that theoretically, in principle, how the prime minister's solution should be approached. It is hard to return with a prime minister from PSD or PNL. I don't know who it should be, but it has to be a person who can bring everyone to the same table."
He cited the Cioloș Government as an example, which was dismissed in 2021 by AUR and USR and voted out by PSD, after which a PSD-PNL-UDMR government was formed, "in which we were ousted. The world has not changed since 2021."
According to him, in two to three weeks we should have a prime minister.
