The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that the delay in the ruling of the Constitutional Court regarding the law on magistrates' pensions is "absolutely unacceptable."

Pîslaru emphasized that justice should not be influenced by political interests and that repeated delays severely affect public trust in the judicial system. The minister mentioned that the government has collaborated with the European Commission to draft a law that addresses the inequities in the pension system, considering that a new delay could lead to a loss of 231 million euros. He also criticized the attacks from the Superior Council of Magistracy, which questioned the necessity of the reform.

Pîslaru insisted that the government must exercise its prerogatives in budget management and highlighted the importance of a quick solution to restore constitutional balance.

The Constitutional Court has postponed the ruling four times, and it is now facing a new session to decide on the future of the law.
