Alexandru Stănescu was dismissed from the leadership of ADR Sud-Vest Oltenia, being temporarily replaced by Cătălin Catană, a close associate of Olguța Vasilescu.

The dismissal of Alexandru Stănescu from the leadership of the South-West Oltenia Regional Development Agency was decided by the Regional Development Council, in the context of internal rivalries within the PSD. Stănescu, the brother of baron Paul Stănescu, was appointed in 2022 without relevant experience in managing European funds. Cătălin Catană, the new interim chief, has connections with the team of Olguța Vasilescu, a rival of Paul Stănescu.
