More and more banking services can be accessed without the need to visit a branch, and for Romanians living abroad, this means they can become clients of Banca Transilvania (BT) in just a few minutes, directly from the BT Pay application. As part of the campaign "Your bank from home, wherever you are," BT encourages Romanians in the diaspora to open an online account and offers them additional benefits.

The offer is for all Romanians in the diaspora who are over 18 years old, for whom the bank has developed a dedicated product. Opening the account is done 100% online, takes about seven to ten minutes, and the process is open permanently, without a video call. Only the identity card or the Romanian electronic identity card is required, and the phone number can be from both Romania and abroad.

Immediately after completing the process, the client receives the digital card and can start using the application. The current account can be opened for free in lei and euros. Additionally, transfers between BT clients, as well as payments with the BT card, in Romania and abroad, benefit from zero commission.

From the application, bills can be paid to suppliers in the country, savings accounts and term deposits can be opened in lei, euros, or dollars, and virtual cards can be used for online shopping or payments to merchants.

The application also includes additional services, such as purchasing the road tax, acquiring an eSIM data plan for travelers in over 200 destinations, and obtaining international travel insurance. Moreover, the physical card is delivered free of charge by courier in Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Moldova.

The campaign thus involves signing up on the dedicated page for Romanians in the diaspora, followed by opening a 100% online account from BT Pay. After activating the account and making payments with the phone, users receive 5% cashback from the value of their purchases, up to a limit of 100 euros. Through this initiative, Banca Transilvania facilitates access for Romanians abroad to banking services from Romania and offers them the possibility to manage their finances from a single application, regardless of the country they live in.
