Super Foundation, an NGO dedicated to sports, health, and education, has concluded a partnership with the European Chess Union (ECU) worth 800,000 euros, signed on August 20, 2026. The agreement provides 500,000 euros for the launch of the European Chess Super League, a competition dedicated to elite clubs, and 300,000 euros for ECU's development projects. The Super League will bring together eight top clubs and will have a prize fund of 300,000 euros. The 300,000 euros allocated for projects aim at education and the development of digital infrastructure.
"Super Foundation is proud to be the partner of the European Chess Union at such an important moment for the future of European chess. Our commitment of 800,000 euros reflects our belief in the power of chess to bring people and communities together, while simultaneously creating new opportunities for players, clubs, federations, and the next generation," said Augusta Dragic, President of Super Foundation.
This investment underscores Super Foundation's commitment to supporting the development of chess as a performance sport and educational tool.
