Cristian Popescu Piedone was summoned as a witness at the Ploiești Court of Appeal Prosecutor's Office. The case concerns the contamination of drinking water in Breaza with the bacteria Clostridium perfringens. In April, the Prahova Public Health Directorate confirmed the presence of the bacteria, and in May, Hidro Prahova was fined 20,000 lei. The issues were reported by citizens, and the Consumer Protection Authority found that the water was unfit for human consumption.
