Claudiu Năsui, a USR MEP, says that the government's proposal to allow only 25% of private pensions to be withdrawn, with the rest paid in installments, violates Romanians' property rights. He stresses that this measure benefits pension fund managers and the state, forcing pensioners to finance the state instead of managing their savings. Năsui warns that the most affected will be Romanians with limited financial resources, who rely on these savings for a decent living. ASF president Alexandru Petrescu justified the changes by the need to stabilize the pension system.
