The mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguța Vasilescu, reported on Facebook about a surprise visit, initially announced as being from a television team from the Czech Republic. Although the local administration is used to such visits, the Czech team refused to meet with representatives of the mayor's office. Later, it was revealed that the visitor was, in fact, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, who explored the old town and Romanescu Park. The mayor expressed her delight at this important visit.
