The depopulation of Romania's working-class towns has led to the existence of ghost blocks, many of them built during the communist era. These are now being put up for sale, one example being a tower block in Uricani, Hunedoara county, which is completely deserted. Other cities, such as Petroșani, have blocks being sold off piecemeal, one with 115 rooms.
