The analysis conducted by a professor from Babeș-Bolyai University shows that the most affected areas are the Apuseni Mountains, the Eastern Carpathians, and the western part of the Southern Carpathians. Despite significant losses, Romania has managed to reforest approximately 224,000 hectares, but this is much less compared to the area that has disappeared. This situation highlights the challenges related to forest resource management in the country.
