The bill regulating the payment of private pensions has been postponed and changes are expected following controversy. Pensioners will still be able to withdraw their money, but not in full at age 65, but monthly, subject to a limit of 25% of the amount. The president of the Association for Privately Managed Pensions has assured that the funds are liquid and able to meet the payments. The draft aims to regulate the way payments are made through specially set up funds, modelled on other European countries, and aims to protect the system from massive withdrawals that could destabilize pension funds.
