Before a government decision regarding the capping of food prices, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan held discussions with representatives of major stores. Although the owners do not support state intervention in the economy, they have committed to respecting the government's decisions. The capping of the commercial markup is in effect for certain products, but the controversy continues within the coalition. Bolojan proposed promoting Romanian products, however, traders emphasize the difficulties related to the lack of a constant flow of goods from farmers.
