Generic drug manufacturers in Romania argue that delays of up to two years in including them on the reimbursement list limit patients' access to essential therapies. Although the costs of raw materials have increased, the prices of generic drugs have consistently decreased. This rigidity of the system, which does not allow for price adjustments, leads to the withdrawal of drugs from the market. Additionally, generic drugs account for only 20% of the medication expenses in the healthcare system.
