Florian Coldea, a former SRI deputy, has been indicted by DNA on charges of influence peddling and money laundering. Coldea, along with retired general Dumitru Dumbravă and lawyer Doru Trăilă, is implicated in a case in which businessman Cătălin Hideg paid €100,000 to get help in reducing a conviction. Coldea and Dumbravă allegedly split the rest of the money, while lawyer Trăilă received a share. Hideg was convicted in the first instance and reported the case to DNA.
