Fabiano Caruana won the second leg of the Grand Chess Tour Romania 2024, after a mini play-off.

Caruana managed to secure his victory after a dramatic day of chess, in which he first lost the classic game to Anish Giri, but then won all three games in the play-off round. The event was sponsored by the Superbet Foundation and the prize money totaled $350,000.
