Firefighters in Mehedinți are battling dry vegetation fires in extremely hot conditions, with a Black Hawk helicopter supporting the response.

Mehedinți county is under a code red heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, complicating firefighters' fight against vegetation fires. Firefighters are working to extinguish fires that have already affected some 30 hectares, with 14 more active outbreaks identified. In their support, a Black Hawk helicopter has carried out six water drops to limit the spread of the fires, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. Interventions are also difficult in Orșova, but crews are managing to prevent the flames from spreading.
