After the closure of the Olt Valley, traffic on the DN1 became even more congested, both from Brasov to Bucharest and vice versa. Police intervened to direct traffic and drivers are advised to be cautious and avoid overtaking. There are also alternative routes, such as the DN1A Săcele - Cheia - Ploiești or the A3 highway Ploiești - Bucharest, with less traffic.
