The National Union of Employees of Municipalities and Cities in Romania announces a warning strike on Wednesday, between 11:00 and 13:00, followed by a general strike, due to the lack of dialog with the Government on local public administration and social assistance issues. The union's president, Dan Cârlan, criticizes the government's measures as harmful and underlines the chronic under-financing of communes, which affects the municipalities' ability to function. If negotiations fail, a general strike will take place on July 30.
