Romania's former Prosecutor General Augustin Lazăr said that the Revolution and Mineriadei cases were left unresolved because of the will of politicians, who prevented fair justice. Lazăr regretted that Ion Iliescu had not been tried for crimes against humanity and pointed out that Romania had been condemned at the ECHR for delaying trials. He calls for a fair judicial memory for young people, pointing out that the Revolution and the Mineriade were only violence in the struggle for power.
