The Prefecture of Arad has convened the County Committee for Emergency Situations (CJSU) after the high salinity values of the water coming from Praid in Mures were recorded. The measure prohibits the use of water for irrigation of agricultural land and for animal consumption in order to prevent negative effects on crops and animals. Continuous monitoring of the salinity will be carried out by the Mures Water Basin Administration and the Public Health Directorate will issue recommendations to the population. The measure is temporary and will be reviewed as indicators evolve.
