ANAF employees have organized spontaneous protests in several counties, unhappy with the reduction of the bonus for harmful conditions from 1,500 lei gross to 300 lei gross, a measure that will come into force in 2025. They also contest plans to cut the number of central government employees by 20%. The protesters are calling for measures to combat tax evasion and ensure a proper tax system, stressing the importance of a secure job and a decent wage for quality public services. Vasile Marica, president of the National Federation of Finance Trade Unions, said that the employees are willing to continue the protests until concrete solutions are found.
