In recent months, Romania has reported 38 cases of infection with the West Nile virus, of which 36 are confirmed. Most cases have been in Bucharest and other counties. The ages of the infected individuals vary, with the majority being in the 70-79 age group. The National Institute of Public Health recommends protective measures against mosquitoes, including wearing protective clothing and draining standing water.
