Border guards seized 197 cell phones from a Ukrainian citizen trying to leave Romania, valuing the goods at 700,000 lei.

On Sunday night at the Vicovu de Sus Border Crossing Point, police officers discovered 197 cell phones hidden in the side walls of a minibus driven by a Ukrainian citizen. He had no documents of origin for the phones and the goods were valued at 700,000 lei. Officers seized both the phones and the van and opened a criminal case for smuggling.
