South Korean prosecutors have opened an investigation into President Yoon Suk Yeol, his interior minister and former defense minister.

The investigation into their role in imposing martial law for six hours, which was later rejected by a vote in parliament. President Yoon cited difficulties in passing the budget and threats to South Korea as reasons for the decision. The legislature is due to vote on his impeachment on Saturday.
