DW Analysis: The victory of the pro-European party PAS in the elections in the Republic of Moldova suggests a decrease in Russia's influence in the region, in the context of an information war lost by Moscow.

However, Russia will not easily give up its influence, continuing to use intimidation and manipulation tactics in the Western Balkans and in other Eastern European states. At the same time, Maia Sandu, the leader of PAS, has demonstrated skill in promoting Moldova's European integration, despite external challenges. This victory offers an important lesson for Romania, highlighting the need for a firmer approach in the face of Russian threats.
