TikTok has removed over 100,000 fake accounts and blocked 250,000 spam accounts in two months, in the context of the electoral campaign in Moldova.

Between July 1 and September 9, TikTok took action against disinformation in the electoral campaign in the Republic of Moldova, removing 100,000 fake accounts and blocking 250,000 spam accounts. The platform removed 4,519 materials that violated civic and electoral integrity policies, with 96% of these being detected proactively. TikTok dismantled four hidden influence networks that promoted political messages in Moldova, in accordance with President Maia Sandu's warnings about external interventions in electoral processes.
