Vladimir Plahotniuc, a Moldovan oligarch detained in Greece, has obtained approval for extradition from the Court of Appeal in Athens. His lawyer confirmed that the decision was made after Plahotniuc accepted extradition. He, along with former deputy Constantin Zăbău, was detained on July 22, having false documents and luxury goods in his possession. The Ministries of Justice of Greece and Moldova will continue with the necessary procedures. Plahotniuc accuses the Moldovan authorities of delaying the extradition process, but Moldovan officials deny these accusations.
