In a video address, Russian chess grandmaster and opponent Garry Kasparov urged Moldovans to vote for a European future, warning against a return to the past. He stressed that the autumn elections are crucial not only for the formation of a new government, but also for the direction the country will take. Mr Kasparov compared the current situation to the USSR, stressing the importance of exercising the right to vote to avoid the influence of the Putinist regime.
