In a recently published article, Microsoft's AI CEO, Mustafa Suleyman, firmly stated that studying what some call 'AI welfare' is 'premature and, frankly speaking, dangerous.' Suleyman warned that promoting the idea that AI could one day be conscious could exacerbate already existing real human problems, such as forming unhealthy emotional attachments to robots or experiencing psychological stress related to AI.
