The Chinese commercial rocket Tianlong-3 failed its first launch on Friday after experiencing an anomaly in flight shortly after taking off from the launch center in Jiuquan, northwest China.

The incident occurred at local time 12:17 (04:17 GMT), when the rocket exhibited abnormal behavior, leading to the cancellation of the mission.

The responsible team announced that it will conduct a thorough analysis of the incident and implement improvements according to standard technical review procedures.

Developed by the private company Space Pioneer, Tianlong-3 is an important project for the Chinese commercial space sector, measuring approximately 72 meters in length and weighing nearly 600 tons.

This rocket is capable of placing payloads of 17-22 tons into low Earth orbit and up to 36 satellites in a single mission.

The launch had previously been postponed due to unfavorable weather, and the program had faced prior technical issues.

The incident coincided with the expansion of the commercial space sector in China, where private companies are seeking to develop reusable rockets and increase the frequency of launches, despite the risks of failure.

Following the announcement of the incident, several companies in the aerospace sector recorded declines on the stock market.
