The artificial intelligence industry is in an intense competition for attracting talent, with giants like Meta, Google, and Microsoft offering huge sums to recruit engineers and researchers. Salaries for machine learning specialists have reached record highs, exceeding $250,000 annually in the USA and £300,000 in the UK. This "arms race" is fueled by the high costs of developing AI models, and startups and traditional industries risk being left behind due to the large salary packages offered by major players in the field.
