Sony has announced that the price of the PlayStation 5 console will increase by approximately 30% compared to last year.

Sony has announced a price increase for the PlayStation 5 range, effective April 2. This decision comes amid rising costs and supply chain issues. The new prices for Europe are 599.99 euros for the Digital Edition, 649.99 euros for the disc version, and 899.99 euros for the PlayStation 5 Pro. Additionally, the PlayStation Portal will cost 249.99 euros.

Compared to previous prices, each model will see an increase of approximately 100 euros, which translates to significantly higher amounts for buyers in Romania: 3,000 lei for the Digital Edition, 3,300 lei for the disc model, and 4,600 lei for the PS5 Pro. The price increase is influenced by higher component costs and steady demand for consoles.
