SK hynix projections indicate that the customized HBM segment alone will reach tens of billions of dollars by the end of the decade. HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) was introduced in 2013, representing a type of RAM that stacks chips vertically, saving space and reducing power consumption - crucial advantages in training and running AI models. The company is developing the next-generation HBM4, with a customer-specific core 'die' to manage memory and enable deeper customization.
